DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS PREPARATION

ORGDH Disaster Relief department thanks all, its volunteers and donors. Your support makes ORGDH able to respond to disasters and other program by delivering water and other necessary materials and other humanitarian aid when and where needed. All our recipients give you many thanks and blessing.  Many of the humanitarian catastrophes and emergency situations we have observed on the ground during past projects could have been avoided or lessen if the general population had a much greater awareness or participate in humanitarian project like you do.

ORGDH prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. By providing lifesaving food, secure housing, clean water, healthcare, emergency relief, micro-enterprise projects and education opportunities, ORGDH is giving the poor a chance at a better future, and showing them God’s love.

Below are some examples of recent natural and man-made disasters to which ORGDH responded.

Help for Haiti’s Forgotten Children

The number of children who are affected by the Haitian crisis and who will need humanitarian aid this year is expected to more than double to reach millions. The figure includes children uprooted from Haiti, those who have returned and others in host and transit communities across Dominican Republic.

The latest estimate highlighted expectations among aid agencies that the political crisis in Haiti will worsen in the coming months, exacerbating the dire humanitarian situation of children and families. What would you do if you were a parent of these children and lived in the distress country of Haiti? What would you do if you saw that your only small garden had died?

Compassionate Instinct

Thanks to everyone that helps us to provide urgent supplies, emergency aid and long-term recovery to children and families in the worst-hit areas in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. We are all born with that innate ability to be compassionate. 90% of your donation will go directly to help those impacted by a disaster.

Organized And More Structured Helping Behavior

Haiti Crises Relief

In the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. The organization provided emergency food assistance, water, rubble removal, classroom construction. After the disastrous effects of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016, ORGDH  deployed a Disaster Assistance Response.

Since the 2010 earthquake, there has been an increased focus on humanitarian aid to Haiti due to political issues. The reality is that not enough has been done when it comes to providing humanitarian aid to the country. We need more humanitarian effort to help the desperate.

Children in Haiti have been going hungry, or even starving. They have been being abandoned by their parents for lack of money to feed them, going without basic needs, missing their educations, and coming under the control of human traffickers and criminal gangs

Many formed entities are involved in disaster response activities.  They come from various households and organized groups of common interests whose goal is to be source and channel of support and aid whenever emergencies arise.

When a crisis occurs, these groups organize together and form networks.   Their helping behavior as a more structured entity allows them to be involved and perform assistance at a broader range.   They are reaching more people, providing many dangerous services such as search and rescue, meeting the victims in a more personal level, talking to them, counseling, giving encouragement and handing face-to-face the basic needs they wanted to provide victims, and even join disaster aftermath cleanup.

Every donation we receive makes a direct difference in how many individuals we are able to helpWe know there are many people willing to help, so please share this with your friends and families.
